For a minute or perhaps two - and this is a long time - the theater makes man better and happier on this earth. - Jean Jacques Gautier

In the fall of 2005, Linda Dubois called a meeting to discuss the creation of a drama club for Rosetown and district. A small but determined group of individuals met with the Rosetown Arts Council in the Rosetown Library basement, and after a brief discussion, the group decided that there was enough interest to proceed.

The first executive of the Rosetown Community Theatre consisted of:

  • Kim Askin - Treasurer
  • Tim Askin
  • Doreen Boyd
  • Bea Chaskavich - Secretary
  • Jack Hamilton - Vice Chairperson
  • Stan Hingston
  • Katherine Kennedy - Media Contact
  • Grant Martens - Chairperson
  • Rome Molsberry
  • Debbie Oliver

First order of business was to name the new group. Jack Hamilton proposed that the name be straightforward and descriptive, and so the new group received the name Rosetown Community Theatre.

Financial assistance was provided by Sky High Productions (Pull of the Land) from Harris and from Rosetown Rewound. Thanks to both of these organizations for their generousity. It came at exactly the right time to help start this fledgling venture.
