The Mousetrap

Rosetown Community Theatre (RCT) is holding auditions for the winter production of The Mousetrap on December 13 and 14 at the Rose Theatre of the Arts. The production will run for four performances from February 25 to 28, 2009.

Stage rehearsals will begin after January 4.

Expectations

Producing a well-known play is a huge undertaking that is very intense, but extremely rewarding. Since so much has to be learned in such a small time frame, The Mousetrap will involve a complete commitment from anyone who wishes to join the cast. It is impossible to rehearse scenes if an actor is missing, as both dialogue and movement of other actors is dependent on that character.

The audition form contains a section for you to fill in the commitments that you have from January 4 to February 28. The final rehearsal schedule for the main characters will be drafted based on these dates. Actors will then be expected to attend every rehearsal that involves their character.

If a commitment arises once rehearsals begin, RCT requests at least one week's notice so the schedule can be changed accordingly. Any person who misses rehearsals unannounced, or more than three rehearsals due to illness or other commitments may be asked to leave the cast.

You may download an audition form. Any student who wishes to audition must complete the parental consent/audition form.

Any student who wishes to audition MUST bring the signed consent form to the audition.

You may not audition for a main part if you cannot commit to all the rehearsal dates. NO EXCEPTIONS. The actual audition will have one part:
